Welcome to my blog.  I will be posting about anything and everything and nothing at all!  To begin, I was born in 1971, which puts me right in the mix of Generation X.  If you ask us, we will tell you that we are the best generation ever. I know each generation believes theirs if "the best." But I do have to say, we have the absolute best music. I remember, as a young girl, hearing my mom playing 70's soft rock, as well as the music she listened to in the 40's, 50's, & 60's. My older brothers were listening to the new-fangled "rock and roll" of the 70's.  My music taste became very eclectic early on and I always say "as long as there is music playing, I am happy."  I do have my favorites (and I will write about them in later blogs), but I was lucky to be born in a time when people still had to have REAL talent to be in the music business.  

As for who I am, I was raised in Kansas City, Kansas (Wyandotte County) and no matter where I am, I will forever be a 'Dotte girl.  They say you can take a person out of "The 'Dotte but cannot take The 'Dotte out of the person." We were never monetarily wealthy, but my parents worked hard to provide a beautiful home and upbringing for me & my brothers. Life, over the past 50 + years has been a wild ride! I would not trade anything for the world.  Each experience I have been through has truly made me into the human I am today.

NYC Trip - 3/17/2025

  We arrived at La Guardia, coming from Kansas City, late afternoon on Monday and grabbed a cab to the Hotel Riu Plaza Manhattan Times Square Hotel. People drive so crazy here! But it was interesting to see a different way of life.  Got checked in and headed right back out to begin exploring the city.  Our first impression – how close everything actually is in NYC?  We started walking toward Rockefeller Center for our early evening check in to Top of the Rock, stopping at FAO Schwartz (our son had to check out the big keyboard from the Tom Hanks movie Big) and watching the ice skaters.  We watched the sun set from Top of the Rock and absolutely loved the views!  On our way back to the hotel, we stopped in at Serendipity3 for a late night dinner of hotdogs and burgers, followed by an amazing sundae with humble pie – talk about decadent!  Then it was time for some much-needed rest after a day of travel.   O...
